Description
Summary:
Keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel. And to Complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotels standard operating procedures.
Continually work towards and support the improvement of engineering service to guests, other departments and fellow staffs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors
Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service
Monitors and maintain all building systems as assigned
Responsible for alerting the Operations Manager of any unusual occurrence and / or damage that have taken place or that may occur
Ensures compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner
Responsible in cleaning of light fittings and testing of lighting systems weekly.
Ensures disposal of waste materials in a safe, hygienic manner ensuring that it is available for collection as required
Attends to personnel visiting the site such as contractors
Carries out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job
Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Management
Qualifications:
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
Background in Electrical and/or Air Conditioning and Refrigeration work
Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing and welding
Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues
Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and handle equipment
Stamina to deal with long hours standing or walking
Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues
Ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions
Organizational and time management skills
