Our Client:
In this position, you will be assigned to our Australian-based client. They are a specialist provider of Unified Communications (UC) and VoIP solutions to the commercial and education sectors. They provide innovative technologies from the world's leading vendors, all designed to help your organization communicate, collaborate and serve your customers faster and easier.
As Linux Systems Administrator, you will support our multi-geo voice carrier network. With Data Centres in multiple locations and a couple of hundred Linux servers under your administration, there is scope to learn about new technologies and showcase your skills to help enhance our solution. With a diverse stack of open-source applications, there is an opportunity to learn new products and make recommendations to improve the systems. The role is a mix of daily administrative tasks to maintain the platform's health mixed with upgrade projects and new initiatives.
Your Responsibilities:
Perform day-to-day administration, provisioning, patching, and configuration of Linux systems in a hybrid environment.
Compile custom packages and programs from the source
Building queries and managing servers
Puppet server orchestration, building, and managing configuration
Your Background:
Bachelor's degree or higher that is highly relevant plus at least 3 years of relevant employment experience.
Proficient English written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of our business' core technologies, and their applications including:
Linux OS administration (preferably Ubuntu or Debian experience)
MySQL
Gitlab / Git version control
Cisco routing and switching fundamentals (VLAN, OSPF, BGP)
Desirable Skills:
PHP for custom web portals
Scripting in Perl
VMware vSphere hypervisors
FreeSWITCH / OpenSIPS / Asterisk - VoIP soft switches
