Position: LINE COOK
Job Summary:
Responsible for prepping ingredients and assembling dishes following the standardized recipes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for preparing kitchen station before the start of meal service.
2. Ensure that all supplies needed for the night shift are available and ready for use.
3. Prep food for service.
4. Clean and sanitize station before and after shift and help other cooks clean up their stations.
5. On call to assist in unloading supplies and storing inventory.
6. Turn off equipment upon the supervisor's last call and cool before cleaning following the standard cleaning procedures.
7. Turn off gas line and exhaust.
8. Clean exhaust and remove any grease build up.
9. Store remaining food items/ ingredients in the chiller of freezer, labeling them properly.
10. Prepare production list for the following day.
11. Coordinate with kitchen helper on stocks that need to be thawed for the next day.
12. Record all spoilage and submit to the supervisor on duty.
13. Bring all tools and utensils to the dish washing area for cleaning.
14. Endorse any concerns in the logbook.
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least college level
- With at least 2-3years experience, preferably in a casual or fine dining restaurant
- Highly organized, systematic and can work under pressure
- Enthusiastic, Attentive, Fast Learner
- With experience in saute/wok section
