The Role
As a Legal Officer under Collections Transformation Department, you will be responsible in representing the Bank in any and in all cases instituted by or against the Bank. You will also be monitoring accounts endorsed for filing to External Legal Agencies. In addition, you will ensure that the individual/Department targets are met based on the latest approved KRA.
How you'll contribute
Appears and represents the Bank in court hearings and other legal proceedings.
Enters into stipulations of facts or compromise agreement or amicable settlement.
Testifies and present evidence in support of the claims of the Corporation.
Initiates and requests retrieval of attachment needed for filing of case such as SOAs, application form of cardholders.
Prepares formal recommendation for settled accounts.
Initiates and recommends adjustments/reversals on accounts via PRO2COL Collection System or in batch via Sentinel - Transaction Interface.
Recommends accounts for card status change via PRO2COL Collection System in accordance with the existing Department/Division Procedure & Guidelines Manual.
Validates, secures and updates changes in cardholder's pertinent demographic information via PRO2COL Collection System.
Prepares response letter to cardholders.
Prepares endorsement summary of accounts for case filing.
Attends to phone in, walk in requests, inquiries & complaints of cardholders.
Reconciles account and recommends compromise amount &/or re-payment arrangement to be given to cardholder.
Recommends process improvement and innovations and ensures the same are documented and forwarded for discussion/approval.
Ensures awareness and compliance to all Bank Policies, Procedures and Guidelines which covers but not limited to Code of Discipline, Information Security Policy and Collection Manual.
Performs Business Continuity Risk Management Plan and Risk Control Self-Assessment Testing as assigned.

Graduate of a Bachelor's Degree in any field
With 3 years of relevant collections experience
Proficient in collections transactions and reports such as flow, past due, and recovery rates.
Proficient in the use of computer and programs (Excel/Word/Power point)
Has good oral and written communication skills
Must have negotiation and analytical skills
