Job Description The Canadian Segment Litigation Services is looking for a motivated, independent individual to join their team as a Legal Assistant on the Litigation Collections Team offshore. Reporting to the Director of Litigation Services, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to multiple practices in a team-based model, specializing in matters across all lines of business in all jurisdictions focused on litigation and collections recoveries. Responsibilities: . Composes and/or types correspondence, documents and reports . Assists with drafting various types of documents, records and briefs . Communicates with internal and external contacts . Maintains database of file information for tracking and reporting purposes . Assist with maintaining and managing invoice and expense payments, processing of EFT's and incoming debtor payments, including tracking and reporting . General office administration duties including faxing, scanning, photocopying, filing, mail distribution . Provide administrative support to multiple practices in a team-based model . Developing ability to research necessary information to fulfill tasks . Ability to liaise with coworkers, internal and external contacts to obtain documentation and information . Developing analytical skills to review all documentation and reporting . Ability to work with basic matters while maintaining accuracy . Ability to multi-task with attention to detail . Developing ability to problem solve quickly while adhering to strict deadlines . Ongoing handling of sensitive information Qualifications: . Bachelor's degree on any legal related courses, Paralegal Certificate (equivalent for legal secretarial diploma) or equivalent work experience . Developing understanding of legal processes/databases . Experience in a similar administrative role is an asset . Communication skills, both oral and written . Client focus and commitment to quality service and product outcomes . Developing interpersonal and diplomacy skills . Excellent computer skills - Office 365, advanced knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Office Companion, Passport, ACL, Excel, Adobe Acrobat DC, OneDrive, SharePoint, Aspera and other applications . Developing organizational and priority-setting skills . Attention to detail and accuracy of work . Demonstrates flexibility in adjusting to changes with a positive attitude . Ability to take the initiative to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment . Ability to work with independence on assigned tasks in a timely manner . Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, results oriented, multiple team environment where confidentiality is essential . Ability to use a high degree of discretion and mature judgment . Demonstrates tact and professionalism and maintains complete confidentiality at all times with the ability to exercise discretion with highly sensitive information .
