Fluor is seeking candidates for the I-35 Northeast Expansion (NEX) South project in San Antonio, TX.
Fluor's scope includes the design and construction of approximately four miles of elevated lanes, three in each direction, and associated interchanges at either end of the project.
The I-35 NEX South Project will add additional capacity to one of the most congested corridors in the state, which handles more than 140,000 vehicles per day.
Technical and operational support for the construction of underground drainage and water transmission systems for civil construction. Position includes both field and office environments. Works closely with Superintendents, Construction Engineering Manager, and functional departments to ensure polices, procedures, and standards are adhered to. Reports to Construction Engineering Manager, manages 1-2 Junior Engineers.
. Works with civil superintendent to direct and coordinate personnel to ensure project progresses safely, on schedule, within all quality standards, and within prescribed budget
. Willingness to learn from experienced field engineers and superintendents
. Interface with team members to provide input as necessary to ensure that Project Controls reporting is accurate and timely
. Worked in civil construction, specifically underground drainage and water line installation
. Familiar with earth retention systems.
. Work with Superintendent and Construction Engineering Manager to identify and resolve design issues with Engineer of Record
. Coordinates RFls to clarify issues. Ensures RFI's have had the involvement of engineering and technical specialists in solutions
. Maintain Daily Report for construction activities, performance, problems, manpower, equipment, etc.
. TxDOT project experience preferred
. Assist in management and coordination of activities among all project functions, engineering disciplines, procurement, contracts and construction
. Participates in safety, schedule, cost, and planning meetings
. Incorporates projects Quality Management System requirements into assigned scopes of work.
. Assist in creation/coordination of project manhour/cost estimates/budgets, and monitor progress/cost performance
. Responsible for coordinating proper inspections and testing for assigned scopes of work
. Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
. Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience a recognized certification or registration in the applicable field, if required some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
. Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
. Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
. Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines.
. Commitment to working in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
. Construction Management degree or global equivalent
. Five (5) years of project experience
. Ability to speak/read multiple languages
. Excellent oral and written communication skills
. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
