POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead of Multimedia Learning Design will serve as a key member of the Human Resources Talent, Development and Inclusion team, providing graphic design leadership and expertise in support of enterprise, functional, and brand development initiatives.
This role will be a member of a dynamic learning and development team, bringing deep expertise utilizing leading multimedia and graphic design applications and techniques to enable innovative and engaging learning experiences for our people globally across our environments-shoreside, private destination, and shipboard.
A multimedia and design partner with program managers, subject matter experts, and other key stakeholders for the ideation, solutioning and creation of digital learning content to deliver the best user experience.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Multimedia and Graphic Design Leadership
Lead the creation of multimedia and digital-enabled elements (e.g., images, graphics, videos, cinematic design, and other digital elements) leveraging best-in-class applications and tools, as well as sound adult learning principles.
Establish the creative direction for our multimedia and graphic design approach for integrating digital into learning to elevate the engagement, learning and impact of our development efforts.
Develop visual project designs, proactively soliciting and incorporating feedback from key stakeholders to ensure the solution meets or exceeds the intended outcomes (e.g., explain a concept, engage a target audience, drive adoption).
Multimedia and graphic advisor, making recommendations regarding design approach and solution, modality, build/buy decision, and content curation to meet the needs of the project and business.
Independently researches and navigates the organization and external marketplace to find relevant information with and/or without subject matter experts (SME) assistance.
Partner with internal instructional design team members through all learning development phases from concept to final delivery (e.g., eLearning, video, web, print).
Ensure the creation of all learning solutions maintain high standards of excellence in design, instructional soundness, and meet the business needs within the project parameters (e.g., time, budget, business and brand objectives).
Anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, considering the varying points of view while staying focused on creating the most effective learning experience for the audience.
Evaluate and appropriately adapt digital content to ensure its relevancy cross-culturally and for all audiences, including those that may be differently abled.
Stay abreast of emerging multimedia and design trends, methodologies, etc. to guide the evolution of related tools and practices to continue optimizing the digital learning experience.
Leadership, Supervision and Collaboration
Mentor and coach members of the multimedia and design team with the ideation and solutioning of digital learning elements.
Credible subject matter expert and partner with program managers, subject matter experts, and other key stakeholders for the ideation and solutioning on effectively leveraging multimedia and digital elements to strengthen the user experience.
Manage, collaborate with and provide design direction to outside creative agencies contracted to work on projects ensuring deliverable achievement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in education, business, marketing or other related field.
Six (6) or more years of multimedia and graphic design experience across a variety of modalities (i.e., online learning, live instructor-led, web, print, etc.) supporting learning and development related efforts in a fast-paced professional environment.
Strong capability in visual design, bringing a diverse range of media experience (e.g., asset creation and/or selection, visual layout creation, motion graphics, etc.), across a variety of formats including but not limited to templates, animations, graphics, eLearning, etc.
Experience leading multimedia and graphic design projects of varying scope, including guiding the work of others (internal/external) to achieve specific results within limited timeframes.
Ability to influence with limited authority, leveraging strong consultation and ideation skills.
Ability to work under tight timeframes; plan, prioritize and carry out multiple, detailed tasks with limited supervision.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior leaders/executives, across a multi-dimensional matrix and global environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Demonstrated proficiency in gamification and motion graphics (i.e., kinetic typography, 2.5D development, animating characters, etc.).
Deep knowledge on technology and multi-media design, in particular eLearning, video, and web development in support of learning and development related efforts.
High degree of technical proficiency and ongoing development with multimedia and graphic design software, including foundational office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud-After Effects, InDesign, Photoshop) and eLearning development tools such as Storyline, Articulate 360, Rise, and others.
Ability to synthesize and produce strategically focused print, multimedia and video materials utilizing brand style guidelines and the advanced application of color, typography, layout, image, video and sound.
Ability to rapidly formulate Proof of Concepts and problem solve with a mastery of the Adobe Create Suite to create innovative, experiential and on-brand visual experiences.
Advanced proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro) and photo and video shoot lifecycle across all phases from pre- through post- production.
High attention to detail, while maintaining alignment with broader organization, functional and brand objectives.
Comfort with complexity, ambiguity, abstract concepts and ideas as initial business needs are scoped.
Proficiency with assessing and translating client needs into forward-thinking products and solutions.
Strong customer orientation and ability to work reciprocally with team members, across functions in a multi-cultural, diverse environment.
