Position Summary:
The Lead, Learning Management System Administrator (Lead, LMS Administrator) provides technical expertise and leadership with the enterprise Learning Management System (LMS) and related platforms utilized by all employees globally (approximately 70,000) across the enterprise. The Lead, LMS Administrator will work in a highly complex environment, enabling the delivery of learning offerings to three distinct employee audiences-shipboard, shoreside and Private Destinations. Responsibilities for this role include the day-to-day maintenance and execution of the LMS and related platforms with support from the LMS Administrator, as well as leading the analysis and reporting of learning data from the LMS and respective platforms.
Roles/Responsibilities:
Leads the administration and ongoing maintenance of the LMS and related learning platforms. Includes content, role permissions, users, and internal system notifications with support from the LMS Administrator.
Updates learning systems used by our shipboard teams for training tracking and reporting and oversees the creation and maintenance of training codes ensuring they are assigned to correct positions.
Reviews and monitors system performance to ensure the accessibility and functionality of learning platforms for all audiences.
Leads the review, testing and implementation of LMS updates and enhancements.
Stays abreast of new and emerging feature releases and determines how those changes impact the LMS and related processes, keeping impacted stakeholders informed.
Provides second tier troubleshooting assistance with employees, collaborating with internal LMS administration community and IT, as well as vendor administration contacts for escalations. Liaison with external suppliers for contracted platforms.
Partners with the LMS administrator as a point-of-contact with the instructional designers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to accessing the LMS and course content.
Data Analysis and Reporting (20%)
Develops and updates standardized tools and reporting functionality to provide stakeholders with ongoing access to learning data.
Lead point-of-contact for LMS related data analysis and preparing themes and insights to demonstrate the impact of learning efforts with department, HR and organizational priorities.
Partners with internal People Analytics team with the interpretation of LMS data analytics to effectively tell the enterprise learning and development story at a program level and holistically.
LMS Process Improvement (5%)
Identifies and recommends opportunities for process and quality improvements, providing feedback on usage, defects, and suggested enhancements.
Monitors user feedback (e.g., learner surveys, feedback from L&D colleagues to help inform LMS improvements and informs internal stakeholders respectively of any course feedback for review and action.
Guides the creation and execution of a longer-term plan for learning management system growth and improvement, bringing in current and external LMS trends and best practices.
Course Management (20%)
Leads the testing of eLearning content to ensure correct functionality prior to launch in partnership with the LMS Administrator.
Supports the LMS Administrator with publishing/posting online, virtual instructor-led and in-person courses. Ensures courses are cataloged and that learners have the proper access.
Secures the proper flow of content and data between external content providers' platforms and LMS platform, ensuring the learning content stays current.
Manages the overall LMS course structure and guides the learning program setup based on specifications from the instructional designer and program manager. Makes recommendations on the most efficient approach to provide the best user experience and facilitate downstream reporting.
Builds online assessments and evaluations within the LMS for courses.
Facilitates discussions between business owners, IT and vendors to assess system integration capabilities across internal and external platforms.
User Management (20%)
Lead point-of-content with IT to manage roles, securities, and permissions associated with LMS access, and makes recommendations that will improve user experience while maintaining system security.
Manages the creation and maintenance of user structures including the creation of user groups and learning cohorts, providing support to the LMS Administrator as needed.
Monitors course enrollment for virtual and in-person instructor-led training, providing status updates to facilitator.
Supports other LMS administrators with general system functionality, communicating relevant changes when system enhancements occur and supporting as needed.
Creates and updates resources to train and support learners on how to use our LMS platform.
Qualifications/Education/Knowledge/Skills:
ion support and technical expertise within a global environment. * Coursework and/or certifications relating to learning management system administration, as well as prior working experience with the Success Factors platform preferred.
Bachelor's degree in human resources, information systems, or another related field a plus.
Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency with a demonstrated ability to perform skills such as conditional formatting, advanced charting, vlookups, Pivot tables, and macros.
Familiarity with course design, development and facilitation for an in-person and virtual audience, including the utilization of virtual tools.
Prior exposure to training delivery and instructional design preferred.
Experience working with and supporting a global audience.
Proven track record of delivering projects on time and to a high-quality standard.
Bachelor's degree in Business or Human resources or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent.
Minimum 2 years related business intelligence experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 2 years working experience in international hospitality and/or travel industry.
Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
Knowledge of SQM policy and MLC legislation.
Working knowledge of computers, Internet access, and the ability to navigate within a variety of Microsoft software packages such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of automated human resources systems preferred including JD Edwards.
Knowledge of general shipboard functions on a cruise ship, and the general concept of the shipboard organization preferred.
Knowledge of world geography, time differences and demographic.
Strong Excel skills required. Ability to analyze large datasets and report relevant finding. High attention to details.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to solve complex problems with a variety of variables.
Proficiency with managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills (oral and in writing), with a demonstrated ability to understand and articulate customer needs and deliver against them.
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to root-cause and resolve technical issues.
Ability to work independently with low supervision.
High attention to detail.
Strong judgment, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization as well as vendors.
