The jobholder will be a key contributor to the formalization of Family Office processes, including:
1. Providing a legal perspective on over-all structure and strategy
2. Creating legal documentation and internal policies and procedures for the daily operations of the Family Office
3. Coordinating with external advisors, as may be necessary particularly regarding international law considerations
Once the Family Office is established:
1. Continuing legal support to all functions;
2. Interface with investors and clients to address any legal or governance-related processes and questions.
Success in this role will require you to fulfill the following responsibilities:
Structuring and Foundation
Provides sound legal advice on the establishment of the Family Office and its key functions. Executes all practical steps to formally establish the Family Office, based on the direction of top management.
Acting as Liaison to External Advisers
Engages with and receives advice from external consultants and advisers for the establishment of the Family Office, including internationally-relevant considerations.
Creation of Key Processes, Procedures, and Documentation
Upon establishment, and as upkeep on a continuing basis, crates internal processes and procedures for the Family Office, plus any supporting documentation.
Client Engagement and Advise
Provides Family Office clients with Legal advice, as necessary. Also, continuing engagement with clients in the execution of the aforementioned key processes and procedures, including but not limited to the execution of legal documentation.
Others
Performs any and all other related functions from time to time
Preferred Qualifications for the Role:
Law School Graduate
Current member of the Philippine Bar
At least 7 years relevant work experience in corporate and/or investment law.
From a Corporate and Investment finance (bank or investment house). Previous involvement in a Family Office or Investing Company is a plus.
Critical Expertise/Skills: 1. Corporate, Investment, and Deal Structuring; 2. Corporate Governance and Compliance; 3. Strong written and verbal communications; 4. Organized and has attention for detail; and 5. Able to confidently engage with senior stakeholders
Realistic Job Preview: Primarily an office-based job, with regular meetings with internal stakeholders and external advisers. Will also require liaising with regulators and other external parties for the foundation of the Yu Family Office (until further notice during this COVID-19 period, the role will be Work From Home. Meetings will primarily be done through phone, internet, etc). Lawyer is expected to manage the Yu family office. Main interaction is with the Yu family for financial investments.
Expectations from Candidates
Candidates who are invited for HR screening will need to undergo and pass an online exam and/or technical exam, and accomplish HR documents, personality tests, and essay exams before proceeding to the HR interview.
Candidates who pass the HR interview would then need to submit soft copies of their available pre-employment requirements, such as the Transcript of Records, Diploma, and NBI clearance. The complete list will be provided by the recruiter.
In the event candidates are hired, they would be required to submit hard copies of all the pre-employment requirements and pass the medical exam and background check before onboarding.
