Description Objective of the position: * To assist Research Scientist in insect mass rearing. Main Areas of Responsibilities: * Assist the Research Scientist and Research Assistant in the mass rearing of insects used for Bay Laguna Screenings Description Objective of the position: To assist Research Scientist in insect mass rearing. Main Areas of Responsibilities: Assist the Research Scientist and Research Assistant in the mass rearing of insects used for Bay Laguna Screenings- CTI, Advanced, Non-crop, Microplot and Field, ensuring that supply is consistent and adequate for the laboratory trials. Assist the Research Scientist and Research Assistant in maintaining a steady and sufficient supply of insects for the screen house and field trials whenever requested. Assist the Research Scientist in the development of new and/or improvement of current rearing methodologies to cater the requests of internal customers. Assist the Research Scientist in the conduct of the CTI, AT-Bay and Non-crop screenings by preparing the necessary insects, glass wares and equipment needed during treatment/spraying. Assist in the data gathering for insecticide research to generate data on characterization of early phase compound. Practice good housekeeping in the insectary, preparation and diet rooms, insect chambers, rearing vans and head house in order to maintain cleanliness and orderliness at the workplace. Follow safety and security regulations and procedure of the company. Minimum Education and Qualification Required: Graduate of high school Degree in Agriculture is a definite advantage. With at least 3 years of related work experience in mass rearing of tropical insect pests, specifically insect pests of rice and vegetables. Knowledgeable of insect biology and is proficient in insect mass rearing techniques. Possess strong attention to details. Can express self well in the local language being able to communicate well in English is an advantage. Proficient in using computers. Demonstrate professionalism and integrity at work. Demonstrate high level of energy and maintain stable performance under pressure. Proactive, can work independently and in teams. Residing or willing to work in Bay, Laguna.
