Description
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES :
1. Extracts / collects / receives the necessary sample (i.e. blood) from the concerned patients
2. Collects/Gets specimens from the Operating and delivery room for Histopathologic examination
3. Assists the Medical Technologist in the preparation of culture media for microbiology section
4. Prepares, coordinates and sends out special examinations to other hospital / accredited laboratories
5. Releases laboratory results to both in-patients or out-patients
6. Renders charges of the requested laboratory tests / services for both in-patients and out-patients
7. Washes all used materials, glassware, slides, petri dishes, sample cups, test tubes in all sections of the
laboratory staff when assigned to do so
8. Collects and segregates all disposable petri dishes for safety and proper disposal of biohazard waste
materials.
9. Defrosts and cleans laboratory refrigerators
10. Cleans and washes used instruments after autopsy examination
11. Gets linens and beddings for the Extraction Area of the Laboratory and Bleeding area of the blood

12. Assists in updating, keeping and maintaining the departments records and documents
13. Performs other tasks as may be assigned from time to time
IV. GENERAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or any allied
course
Required License : not necessary
Trainings : for any allied course graduate, Phlebotomy training is a requirement but
not necessary if BS Medical Technology course graduate
Related Experience : preferably with one (1) year of related experience
Knowledge /skills required : has knowledge on laboratory procedures and tests; possess
administrative, communication and customer service skills; computer
literate, matured, can keep highly confidential information, honest and
trustworthy
