Overall Purpose of the Role
You take initiative and are always up to date on E-commerce design and best practice, and you perform continuous testing and improvements.
New builds, change requests and general bug fixes on a multilingual, global Shopify Plus platform.
Translation of UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop new user-facing features
Optimising applications for maximum speed
Build reusable code and libraries for future use
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
Stay up to date on emerging technologies
The Person:
This position requires a person who is a tech-savvy professional, curious about new digital technologies and aspires to combine usability with visual design. Interested in creating a user-friendly environment by writing code.
Qualifications:
At least 2 years experience in a similar role, with a proficient understanding of web mark-up, including HTML5, CSS3
Experience from API integrations or similar
Knowledge and experience of CRO
Experience in Shopify & Liquid is nice to have.
Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
Good knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. (I.e. Photoshop/illustrator).
Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools.
Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
