Background:
The Jr. Web Developer will assist the Web Developer with website builds, implementing new design features, and working to ensure that the underlying structure of our network of websites is correct. They will work closely with the Web Developer, Ads Manager, and the Content Team to assist with all aspects of website development and design. Their responsibilities include building websites from concept all the way to completion from the bottom up, fashioning everything from the home page to site layout and function. They have excellent website design skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate, interpret, and implement marketing team objectives into websites and landing pages.
Create and implement basic custom code to sites as necessary to meet project requirements.
Perform site maintenance and edit functionality when necessary.
Communicate project-related information to the appropriate points of contact.
Implement new sites with required design elements.
Responsible for troubleshooting basic system and site implementation issues including: item changes, site layout, keywords, placing orders, customer logins, single sign-ons, and image uploads.
Coordinate with server admins to secure Network Address Translation setup and digital certificates.
Create and run thorough test plans to ensure site functionality and end user experience.
Understand architectural integration of different systems.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Technical Qualifications:
Trained in computer programming & software development
Specialized knowledge of HTML, JavaScript/jQuery, CSS.
Familiarity with debugging tools.
Basic web content management and strong project management skills.
Ability to work with little supervision in day-to-day assignments and ability to manage multiple competing priorities and frequently switch between tasks as priorities shift.
Must be willing to learn new software development skills utilizing various educational resources.
