RESPONSIBILITIES POSITION SUMMARY: Primarily responsible for conducting studies, gathering and analyzing data, and measuring results of the project based on scientific parameters to prove its effectiveness and value. He / she will also be respo RESPONSIBILITIES POSITION SUMMARY: Primarily responsible for conducting studies, gathering and analyzing data, and measuring results of the project based on scientific parameters to prove its effectiveness and value. He / she will also be responsible for recommending and designing action plans in order to maximize the project's effectivity and ensure desired results are achieved. Reef Monitoring: Monitor the reef scorecards to assess status and recommend action plans to improve results Develop new tools as necessary to improve monitoring of marine life and reef in the targeted communities Research and recommend ways of conserving and securing marine life in the targeted communities Project Impact Monitoring: Conduct data gathering and analysis on the project's impact on the reef, communities, partners, etc. Compare results and progress versus baseline in order to measure project effectiveness and overall impact Project Tools Development & Assessment: Develop necessary tools and mechanisms in order to improve project efficiency/achieve desired results Coordinate with the IEC Specialist to develop learning materials/modules for the communities to learn and develop an appreciation of the concept of the citizen science and reef monitoring As required: support other Foundation initiatives that are relevant to the goals and objectives of the program REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE: Advanced knowledge of science, environmental, and social concepts, and issues Communicating science and conservation topics effectively Measuring, tracking and reporting results and analyzing/solving issues EXPERIENCE / EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT REQUIRED: 3 to 5 years of significant experience in development project implementation and delivering results against targets Degree in life science, marine biology, or environmental management is desirable SKILLS Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including IT skills Strong administrative and organizational skills Budgeting and financial skills Project Management ATTITUDE: Ability to be self-directed and take initiative A curiosity to learn and share knowledge with others Passion for nature and science comfortable in the outdoors.
