Job Description (Role Profile)
JOB SUMMARY
The US General Ledger (G/L) Accounting team at Avid is an integral part of the monthly financial close process and works closely with various finance teams globally. The G/L team is responsible for several account reconciliations and analysis (including all cash accounts, current assets, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and certain accruals and equity accounts). The team also manages the Canada and Mexico entity books in SAP and coordinates with the external and internal auditors.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
This Staff Accountant role (based in the Philippines) and will report to the US G/L Manager.
Responsibilities will include the following:
Supports month-end and year end close process, including upload journal entries into SAP
Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of monthly journal entries
Preparing and maintaining monthly reconciliations of select general ledger accounts
Processing monthly accruals
Assists with preparation of audit schedules for quarterly review/annual audit
Assists with accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team.
Be a point of contract for requests by auditors
Participate in various other accounting, reporting, and internal controls projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
2+ years of accounting and/or finance experience.
Organized and detail oriented
Demonstrated intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with accounting software (preferably SAP).
Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
Must show ability to manage multiple tasks and delivery dates
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
