WHAT IS A JUNIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER Our awesome client, a leaderbroker company based in Australia is looking for a Jr. Software Engineer to be part of their Global Infrastructure division, the Tools & Capabilities Team is responsible for delivering new platforms, tools and services that are used across the organization, and that enhance overall visibility, alerting and automation. WHAT WILL BE YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Junior Software Engineer - Working closely with the Senior Software Engineer, you will be a critical member of the team delivering high-quality designs, code and documentation with innovation and continuous improvement at the forefront. You will be responsible for developing and delivering the individual tools that make up the Observability Platform, ensuring they meet or exceed the requirements and use cases, seamlessly integrate into the overall ecosystem, and are built for scale. You will work collaboratively within your team as well as with other Delivery, Software and Infrastructure teams to ensure their systems and platforms integrate with the tools we build, allowing for data to be shared and related across platforms, ultimately resulting in better visibility, alerting, automated remediation and an overall reduction of outages. You will be joining a dynamic and fast-paced organisation where everyone has a voice, we challenge the 'norm', and where we strive to do it better every day! The role sits within the critical infrastructure teams and there is an expectation that occasional after-hours work will be required when potentially disruptive maintenance and upgrades are performed, and in emergencies. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR .1+ years' experience in a software development role, preferably with a Telco/ISP or large enterprise. .Experience in developing tools for deployment on virtualised and containerised technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes. .Experience with multiple coding languages including Bash/Shell, Python, PHP and Javascript. .Experience in using data serialisation languages such as JSON and YAML. .Experience in troubleshooting complex technical issues. .A sense of ownership of development projects and improvement of development practices. .Self-starter and can work independently but also a great team player. .Customer focused attitude. .Strong verbal and written communication skills. .Strong stakeholder management skills. .Experience in CI/CD tools, pipelines and version control such as Gitlab. .Exposure in public cloud environment/technologies including AWS. .Understanding of networking architecture and internet protocols as well as VoIP technologies & protocols. .Experience developing in Go is a huge plus! .Experience working with relational and time-series databases is highly desirable.
