Functional overview Senior Developers / Java Developers are responsible for defining application requirements, design, and programming. Senior Developers are expected to be proficient in HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Java. Senior Developer Job description We are looking for an experienced Java programmer to join our small but mighty team. As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for defining requirements, designing program structure, and implementing the software application program using HTML, CSS, SQL, Javascript, and Java. You will be developing a Java web application in an environment consisting of Apache Turbine servlet framework, Apache Tomcat and PostgreSQL in a Windows and Linux platform. The applications being developed provides business solutions in areas related to supplier management such as supplier onboarding, qualification, certification, risk management, and diversity, equity and inclusion. Senior Developers/ Java Developers are also expected to assist other programmers and help enhance their programming skills through guidance, mentoring, and source code reviews. In addition, you will be working with systems analysts, software architects, and business users to discuss program bugs, design issues, and proposed solutions. Duties and responsibilities Analyze and evaluate current systems Identify new and modify existing system requirements Communicate with system analysts and software architects to understand requirements and use cases that support the requested enhancements and or new functionality Work with IT team and other developers to produce new and improve existing systems Regularly test and troubleshoot Resolve bugs and design issues Training other developers in programming Brainstorming new ways to add specific functionality and/or enhancements to the solution Minimum competencies Knowledge of programming languages like Java, Javascript, HTML, SQL, CSS Knowledge of application frameworks such as Apache Turbine, Spring, Hibernate, Torque, Velocity Minimum qualifications At least 8 years of experience as a Java programmer Knowledge of enterprise business software applications Knowledge of software requirements gathering and documentation
