IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Job Description
The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the computer networks in the company. They will organize, install, and support the company’s computer systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems. They ensure that email and data storage networks work properly and that the employees’ workstations are working efficiently and stay connected to the central computer network.
Essential Functions
Install and configure software and hardware
Manage network servers and technology tools
Set up accounts and workstations
Install CCTVs in the office, plants and outlets
Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
Troubleshoot issues and outages
Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
Upgrade systems with releases and models
Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
Interpret and solve problems when a user or an automated monitoring system is alerted of an existing problem
Qualifications
Must be a bachelor’s degree holder in a field related to computer or information science
Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
Resourcefulness and problem-solving skills
Communication skills
