Role Summary: The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for the administration, optimisation, and upkeep of our ERP system on an in-house Ubuntu server. While specific experience with Odoo is highly desirable, we are open to candidates with strong ERP and server management skills who can quickly adapt to Odoo. This individual will lead a significant upgrade project, ensuring a smooth transition to the latest version with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
ERP & Server Management: Oversee and maintain the in-house ERP system (Odoo preferred) on our Ubuntu server, ensuring stable, high-performance operations.
Upgrade Project Leadership: Plan, coordinate, and execute the ERP upgrade, including testing, troubleshooting, and optimising new features in Odoo or similar ERP systems.
System Maintenance: Manage regular updates, backups, and security measures to keep the ERP environment secure and functional.
Customisation & Integration: Use Python to customise ERP modules and integrate with other business systems based on unique operational needs.
Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting and technical support to resolve issues quickly, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of the ERP system, including configurations, customisations, and upgrade procedures.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with Odoo is highly preferred, but candidates with strong ERP experience and a willingness to learn Odoo are welcome.
Proficiency with Linux-based server management, particularly Ubuntu.
Strong Python coding skills for ERP customisation, integration, and workflow automation.
Solid understanding of project management principles for leading upgrades and large-scale system changes.
Familiarity with ERP modules, data flow, and configuration to support various business processes.
Knowledge of database management and optimisation, preferably PostgreSQL or similar.
Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and support with team members.
