Description
This is a senior networkarchitect position requiring very wide and deep knowledge and experience, not only on the networking technologies,but alsoon other areas of the infrastructure stack, like compute, storage, middleware, applications. The candidate fitting this position will mastertraditional on-premiserouting and switching(datacenter and branch),will have an excellent understanding and real life experience oncloud networking,SDWANand network security.This position is both engineering and support/operations as an escalation from first level staff.
This positionreports totheSVP Infrastructure Services - Network, andinteractscloselywithIT development teams, IT architecture teams, and other IT groupsworldwide.
The mainrequirementsof this position are:
Well rounded background with at least 15 yearsproven experiencein anenterprisesetting, and preferably in the financial sector.
Strong traditional networking engineering experience - Routing, switching, firewalling, load balancing.
Good understanding and hands-on experience on cloud networking, with focus on AWS andAzure.
Strong familiarityand hands-on experiencewith SDWAN, in particular Vmware Velocloud.
Experience automating and scriptingmanagement and operational tasksfornetwork infrastructure.
Participate in On-call rotation (every8-10weeks).
Technical Requirements:
Must haves:Strong knowledge and extensive hands-on experiencein the followingareas andtechnologies:
Expert level experiencein wide area networkroutingandCisco routers, branch office and datacenter grade (2900/3900, ISR4K, ASR1K, etc.), and site to site IPsec.
SDWAN experience, deploying, configuring, managing, monitoring - in particular Vmware Velocloud.
Many years of experience inswitching infrastructure-datacenter, campus and small/medium branch office networks(Meraki, Catalyst and Nexus family).
Strongmanagement and operations ofPalo Alto firewalls and Panorama.
Several year experiencemanagingF5 BigIP load balancers.
Strong hands-on knowledge ofOSPFin the enterprise.
First-hand experience implementing, maintaining NAC ecosystems (802.1x).
Strong knowledgeand real life experiencewithBGPwithin and between autonomous systems.
Experiencing configuring and maintaining remote access VPN systems (Palo Alto Global Protect).
Hands-on implementingQOSin the LAN and WANfor the enablement ofIP telephony andvideo conferencingor VDI.
Experience with AWS and Azure networking, (or others likeOracle OCI, Google GCP).
Deep understanding of TCP/IP protocolsand packet analysis.
Exceptional troubleshooting skills/ critical thinking problem resolution.
Other helpful skills:
Multi-cloud networking orchestration (Aviatrix).
Building infrastructure in the cloud using AWS cloud formation, Azure ARM templates, Terraform.
Understanding and experience with deployment in the cloud using pipelines.
VXLANexperience/understanding.
Scripting and programming skills (ansible,python, javascript, powershell, bashshell,expect,DOS batch, perl,json, yaml, etc).
