Job Description
This position is primarily responsible for effectively responding to security alerts to reduce risk associated with cyber security attacks. The analyst will also be responsible for maintaining the necessary systems and processes of the Company's incident detection capabilities. This includes, but is not limited to, QRadar SEIM platform, intrusion detection platforms (e.g., Firepower, Trend Micro Deep Security), associated runbooks/processes and ensuring all log sources are reporting in as expected. Other tasks which support Fluor's incident detection or other cyber security capabilities may be assigned at any time.
Roles and Responsibilities
Effectively perform Incident response processes through all phases of Incident Response - Planning, Identification, Containment, Eradication, Recovery and Lessons Learned.
Investigate and effectively respond to security alerts in the IDS Alerts mailbox and Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps portal during regular shift hours and on-call shifts.
Address any QRadar log sources that have been identified as not reporting.
Assist BeyondTrust deployment team in rollout of the BeyondTrust client across the environment.
Prepare Daily Threat Briefing summarizing relevant cyber security news articles and distribute to identified parties.
Conduct monthly scans for hardware and software listed on the Prohibited Vendors list as provided by Company's Mission Solutions and Legal groups.
Identify opportunities for improving Company's incident detection and response processes.
Provide education and guidance to other members of the Company's Information Security team.
Assist in active threat hunting processes as time permits.

Basic Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with incident detection, analysis and threat hunting using QRadar and Microsoft Defender or similar tools.
Thorough understanding of various domains of cyber security as well as the MITRE ATT&CK framework. This includes but is not limited to security architectures, networking and security, host/network intrusion detection, and security scanning tools.
Technical understanding of tools (QRadar, Microsoft Defender, Firepower, Trend Micro Deep Security, etc) used within the Company's environment.
Ability to work independently.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Accredited degree or global equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
May require Certified Network Engineer (CNE or CNE/NT) or Certified Network Administrator (CNA) credentials or other applicable certifications
Six (6) years related experience in technical services for hardware/software engineering and/or production support of Information Technology (IT) services
May require proficiency with Windows, Unix, or similar technologies, with experience in installation and administration of one or more operating systems
Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills
Effectively utilizes business principles, processes, and technology
Effectively adapts to rapidly changing technology and applies it to business needs
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Demonstrated strong technical and non-technical communication and presentation skills in both oral and written formats
