Job Summary: Internal Audit and Compliance Team Lead is responsible for development and implementation of a risk-based audit and regulatory compliance program of the company. He/she will lead the team of internal auditors in ensuring the implementation and operating effectiveness of internal controls across all departments.
Main Responsibilities:
• Lead the Audit and Compliance Team in the testing and documentation of risks, processes, flowcharts, and narratives of the all departments to ensure high level of internal control;
• Recommends revisions and additions to policies and procedures in order to improve governance systems, risk management, as well internal control environment;
• Develops and maintains the Internal Audit Procedures Manual to ensure that best practice is taken account of and that the audits address specific areas of risk management;
• Conducts regular testing of the compliance programs and procedures in observance with regulations of the BSP;
• Maintains a comprehensive system for recording all audit plans, work papers, findings, reports, and follow-up audits.
• Performs investigative audits, if warranted, to facilitate the appropriate evaluative proceedings for the determination of the culpability of officers or employees who are charged with acts of fraud or dishonesty, or with gross negligence constituting a violation of the company's code of conduct.
• Schedules meetings with managers, supervisors, and department heads as necessary, to provide information on compliance changes that may affect the unit/department
• Provides training to employees on topics that will present a complete overview of the compliance issues, rules, regulations and responsibilities
• Serves as the company representative to regulatory agencies to be able to access and gain new and updated regulatory information
• Manages all regulatory compliance examinations of the company by preparing internal stakeholders for examinations, conduct post examination follow up, prepare responses and oversees corrective actions
Qualifications:
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree on Accounting
• At least 5 years of meaningful external or internal audit experience
• Adept in accounting principles, internal audit methodology and standards for the professional practice of internal audit; prior success in conducting internal audits
• Solid understanding of risk and control concepts. Ability to apply these concepts to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of business processes and controls
• Advanced knowledge in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Power point, Visio)
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Knowledge on flowcharting (creation and maintenance)
• External audit exposure gained from reputable auditing firm is an advantage
• CPA and/or CIA, or equivalent designation is an advantage
• Based in Cavite
