Job Description:
Responsible for performing individual internal audit projects, as part of the internal audit plan.
Assists in developing internal audit scope, performing internal audit procedures, and preparing internal audit reports reflecting the results of the work performed.
Performs follow-up on the status of outstanding internal audit issues.
Assists the internal audit management with periodic reporting to the audit committee, development of the annual internal audit plan, and championing internal control and corporate governance concepts throughout the business.
Performs identification and analysis of business risks, review of relevant audit information and documents as part of the auditing planning phase
Performs controls testing and substantive testing to validate audit assertions such as existence and effectiveness of the internal controls, reliability and integrity of financial/operational information, compliance to internal process, regulatory requirements.
Documents audit work in an organized, accurate and concise manner
Prepares audit reports based on the results of the audit.
Keeps management informed on the audit progress with concise, clear, value-adding and relevant audit remarks.
Recommends improvements to the control environment and monitor implementation of management action plans.
Technical Skills: COSO Framework, ISPPIA Standards, IFRS, GRC Concepts, Risk Assessment and Management, Risk-Based Audit, Internal Controls Assessment
Knowledgeable of accounting and financial reporting standards
Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance, and provide appropriate direction to other internal audit project team members.
Knowledgeable of governance, risk and internal control concepts and experience in applying them to plan, perform, manage and report on the evaluation of various business processes/areas/functions.
