Audit the activation cards, sales report, inventories, petty cash fund and property and equipment in the head office and the branches by performance of roll forward procedures, validation with external sources or non-editable internal records, doing of surprise counts, reconciliations and management inquiries.
Becoming an internal audit staff requires expertise and a strong character. It requires comprehensive knowledge in accounting and auditing, as well as being comfortable with Microsoft applications including Word and Excel. In addition, the employee can also act as the whistle blower in cases of fraud or misconduct.
Duties and reponsibilities:
Conduct daily sales audit by comparing the reported sales generated by the POS for the day with the cash receipts, including cash, credit cards and even cancelled commission checks.
Perform daily inventory roll forward procedures and surprise counts at random intervals.
Monitor the scratch cards released for the day and perform surprise counts.
Petty Cash Fund
Validate the items reported in the liquidation report to determine whether they are legitimate company expenses and within the allotted budget.
Property and Equipment
Have a regular monthly inspection of the branch to determine whether the reported property and equipment in the area is still there and whether the same is functioning properly.
Prompt audit of cash disbursements to ensure timely release of checks for payment of distributors' commissions, purchases from suppliers and other expenditures.
Ability to conduct an efficient full audit that is relevant, accurate and timely including the skill to detect any anomaly occurring in the branch.
- Bachelor's degree with a focus in the area of private sector accounting and internal auditing;
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word and Excel;
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task;
- Able to extend long hours to meet departmental deadline;
