Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or similar field
Proven working experience in decorating interior spaces (consultations, renovations, space planning and new constructions) for hotel and restaurant spaces
Expertise in layout, colour, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all installations.
Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator or other design programs
Creative talent, imagination and eye for design

Duties and responsibilities
Visiting job sites to analyze space availability, design needs and the purpose of the space
Attending meetings to understand the design needs and preferences regarding interior styles and colors
Creating initial design sketches, color themes and ideas based on requirements and space availability
Getting approval from the client before creating CAD designs and detailed briefs for workers and supervisors
Overseeing the buying process of all raw materials and items required to complete the project
Arranging client visits and keeping everyone involved in the project appraised of its progress
Ensuring project completion within the allocated budget and timeline
Undertake design project from concept to completion
Define project requirements and schedule during the "brief"
Interpret and translate customer needs into rough plans
Set costs and project fees according to budget
Research and decide on materials and products sourcing
Produce "sample" and "mood products"
Supervise work progress
Work closely with designers, decorators, suppliers, engineers, architects and contractors
Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practices
Meets with clients to identify goals and requirements for the space to be designed and outlines client design objectives.
Collaborates with architects, engineers, contractors and other experts to achieve the functional and aesthetic needs of the space.
Analyses how people operate and move in the space, as well as patterns of use.
Conceptualizes design plans and prepares sketches or other visual aids to present designs to the client.
Creates mood boards to help clients visualize your design.
