Job Description
Read blueprints: Review blueprints and specifications to determine the type and amount of insulation needed, Measure and cut: Measure and cut insulation to fit around pipes and into walls, Remove asbestos or urea-formaldehyde
Apply insulation: Apply insulation using a variety of methods, such as spraying, blowing, pasting, taping, or strapping, Secure insulation: Secure insulation using staples, tape, or screws
Remove old insulation: Remove and dispose of old insulation, Install vapor barriers: Install vapor barriers, Apply waterproofing cement: Apply waterproofing cement over insulating materials to finish surfaces.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
Male applicants are preferred for this role.
An insulator, also known as an insulation worker, installs and replaces insulation materials in buildings and mechanical systems
