Qualification
Mechanical Engineering graduate. Licensed engineer will be an advantage.
At least two years of being a maintenance engineer with expertise on industrial powerplant maintenance. Must have proven leadership experience and able to manage large and dynamic team.
Job Function
Designs and implements the appropriate repair and maintenance regime of mechanical equipment, facilities & utilities, structures and building, to ensure reliability and efficiency of performance.
As the main mechanical project engineer, conducts mechanical equipment and facility installation and commissioning, including inspection prior to completion and handover to the appropriate receiving department.
Acts as the main mechanical engineering discipline expert and resource for operations, maintenance and projects within the department.
Keeps abreast with new mechanical engineering technologies, methods, equipment and skills/training developments in the industry.
Duties and Responsibility
Supervises the machines and equipment effectively to ensure safe operation and efficient supply of machine and equipment to satisfy the requirement of D&L customers.
Implements programs in order to improve productivity and job quality thru proper coordination of labor, parts, materials, and machine time.
The role includes support on spare parts management together with the planner with the goal of eliminating any downtime related to spare parts unavailability.
Prepares and manages the budget necessary to a specific section to operate and maintain the assigned machine and equipment.
Develops predictive, preventive and total productive maintenance programs on specific systems assigned and ensuring it is being carried out by technicians.
Develops and supervises mechanical projects related to assigned system for equipment upgrade and optimization.
Anticipates changes in designs using mechanical engineering principles with application on PME code, ASME, Pressure vessel codes and gives inputs on mechanical system for project expansion and upgrade.
May act as a subject matter expert on mechanical power driven machineries like steam generators and alike.
Participates in Hand over commissioning and decommissioning process. Should be responsible on the outcome of the commissioning process in terms of equipment maintainability and functionality.
Actively participates during every project management phase and will act as representative of the utilities manager to make sure project is on track and on budget. May act as a lead during the hand over making sure all deliverables are met.
Responsibility includes but not limited to long range and short range schedules. Mitigating backlog relative to resources so as not to impact equipment performance.
Creates a comprehensive cost management on opportunities that may arise during repair and operations of prime movers. Part of the includes electricity, water and steam centering on optimization or frequency of replacement.
Manages activities on emergency repair through collaboration with manufacturing providing quick resolution to problems.
Considered as an expert on his field specializing in the mechanical engineering profession as defined by the Philippine Mechanical Engineering Code and other relevant and widely accepted professional organization worldwide.
Always available for supervision of assigned section and support.
