JOB SUMMARY
The Infection Control Officer is responsible in ensuring that the company's established health, safety and infection control procedures and policies are maintained and implemented.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Documents safety and infection control policies and procedures base on the result of risk assessment and as part of prevention measure.
2. Conducts Safety and Infection Control Audit base on approved quality plan and prepares corresponding audit report.
3. Facilitates Safety Officer's Monthly Meeting as part of accident prevention and to minimize safety risk.
4. Takes culture swabs regularly from high risk areas to laboratory, obtains the microbiology culture results from the laboratory and reports positive findings to responsible person.
5. Maintains Safety and Infection Control records in accordance with the established Records Management Manual.
6. Conducts investigation on safety incident or clinic acquired infections incident, generates reports and forwards copy of the reports to the VP for Operations and Quality Assurance.
7. Implements educational programs to provide staff with knowledge and skills regarding safety and infection control practices and preventive measures to provide a safe environment for clients and employees.
8. Monitors the implementation of preventive measures, provides guidance to staff and counsels them on per need basis.
9. Participate and assists in the organization of regularly scheduled Quality Circle Meeting.
10. Prepares monthly statistical data for presentation to Operations Committee and Quality Circle Meeting.
11. Performs other task from time to time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in any Medical Course but preferably a nurse.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in maintaining safety and infection control system.
• Knowledgeable on safety related Philippine Law and on Infection Prevention and Control Standard.
