ABOUT THE ROLE:
An ideal candidate for this role will have a wide breadth of knowledge and experience with enterprise networks, systems, and cybersecurity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the day-to-day design, development, and operations of On-Premise and cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and additional services)
An experienced engineer who has the capability to embrace and expand the existing on-premise and cloud architecture
Provide expertise as workloads are transitioned to the cloud while ensuring minimal business disruptions
Responsible for extensive coordination with respective internal support and engineering teams, and various external partners and vendors on multiple projects and initiatives
Designs, develops, and deploys on-premise and cloud-based systems and services, in collaboration with Architects, and in accordance with best practices and strategic direction
Provides input on technical architecture and direction for the cloud environments
Compiles and updates cloud reference architecture as well as provides support for Microsoft Azure, Office 365, SaaS Integrations, along with other cloud services
Evaluates and provides insight on cloud technologies (modules, applications, hardware, and new software)
In addition, ensures efficient performance and utilization of cloud services (compute, storage, network). Works closely with, and advises, Information Security on cloud vulnerabilities and threats by identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
Manages and administers Active Directory, Exchange, Group Policy, Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), and certificates
Works closely with the Client's Information Services (IS) Application team on service performance by migrating workloads to Microsoft Azure and automating tasks using Microsoft PowerShell, Python, etc.
Assists with the installation and configuration of traditional servers, storage, and associated equipment
Responds to updates and closes service desk tickets generated
Works closely with the Client's IS team by reviewing legacy systems and provides recommendations for improvements
Monitors network/system performance by identifying system and network events, security, and environmental alarms
Assists with the development, implementation, and testing of data contingency/disaster recovery planning
Other projects and duties as assigned
Serve in an on-call capacity during off-hours, as needed and assist with monthly maintenance activity tasks
Create and maintain robust documentation
Interact with business partners and recommended solutions to improve organizational efficiencies
Evaluate on-premises applications and transition workloads to Microsoft Azure.
Evaluate, implement, and deploy services in Microsoft Office 365.
Work in a logical and methodical manner to help shape strategic projects and strategy
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with leadership and staff
Work independently as well as provide guidance and expertise to project/program teams
Utilize computer and appropriate software (e.g., Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and job specific applications/systems to produce correspondence, charts, spreadsheets, and/or other information applicable to the position assignment
REQUIREMENTS:
5 years' experience as a systems Engineer working with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Servers, Active Directory (AD) required
3-5 years PowerShell experience
Minimum 1 year project management experience
Experience in Linux environment is a plus but not required
Working knowledge of current Microsoft operating systems configuration and deployment in an enterprise environment including:
Working knowledge in design and maintenance of a virtualized infrastructure using MS Hyper-V
Storage solution experience including LUN management, SAN configuration, and storage network configuration with technologies such as Fiber Channel / iSCSI
Working knowledge of internet networking, MPLS
Working knowledge of remote access solutions, FTP and VPNs
Working knowledge of information security best practices (NIST, CIS)
Cloud-based certification (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP)
Cloud computing technologies and current computing trends
Microsoft Azure and Office 365 in a diverse tenant and subscription
Experience deploying and configuring Azure SQL, Managed Instance databases, Azure Functions, Azure LogicApps
Experience with AWS Cloud administration
