About the Position
Under the overall guidance by the Country Representative, you will ensure the effective management and coordination of UNFPA activities at the national and local level with major focus on Catanduanes. Activities are defined under the Cluster Operational Response Plan for Typhoon Rolly of the Health Cluster (with focus on SRH) and Protection (with focus on GBV). With technical support from the NPOs for Reproductive Health, Gender and GBV, and Population and Development and the M and E Manager, you will work on project formulation, implementation and evaluation, and joint programming initiatives across clusters. You will aim at strengthening and reinforcing UNFPA's lead role on SRH and GBV and providing high quality technical assistance to government and non-government counterparts. In addition, you will provide technical guidance on integrating the development-humanitarian-peace building nexus.
You will provide technical support to the regional authorities, local authorities, local development partners and implementing partners to ensure optimal program implementation, effective use of resources, quality tracking of results, adequate coordination, advocacy for policy change and clear communication of UNFPA mandate, work and results in the region across humanitarian and development settings.
The technical and coordination work expected from the Field Humanitarian Coordinator and shall primarily be in line with the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022, the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health (RPRH) Law, Magna Carta for Women, the Department of Health’s (DOH) National Objectives for Health (NOH), Minimum Initial Service Package in SRH and the UNFPA 8th Country Programme of Assistance to the Philippines, 2019-2023.
