What will you do?
What will you do?
As our new HR Manager, you'll use your subject matter expertise to advise the leadership team on best practices, compliance, and emerging people trends. As the sole HR contributor, you'll maintain the daily operations of the HR function such as recruitment, maintenance and retention, program administration, and department related financial planning / reporting. Additionally, you'll lead strategic HR initiatives and work closely with management and all departments, nationwide, to align HR objectives with the company's business goals.
Your day-to-day will include:
General
Participating and being an active member of the Management Board
Revising and maintaining relevant policies, processes, and tools
Being responsible for the full employment lifecycle, including onboarding and separations
Acting as the benefits administrator and being the point of contact for insurance carriers and broker
Processing all leaves of absences according federal and state law
Partnering with management to support employee career development initiatives and employee relations
Acting as an ambassador for icon group's overall commitment to diversity and inclusion as a core value
Talent sourcing and recruitment
Creating sound business case(s) alongside hiring managers
Assisting in writing job descriptions and supporting hiring managers with selection and placement, including pre-screen interviews, background, and reference checks
Completing a compensation analysis for all roles and negotiating salaries and contracts with candidates
Actively sourcing new talent
Maintenance and Retention
Creating and updating contractor and employee data in FileMaker
Managing yearly annual performance review process with employees and managers
Maintaining a current list of active freelancers / contractors, covering various skillsets and departments
Leading retention-based programs such as tuition reimbursement, leadership seminars, speaker opportunities, etc.
Finance, Planning & Budgets
Assisting the COO and finance with annual budget planning and quarterly reforecast reports
Reporting all staffing changes to finance
Measuring employee headcount & taking part in salary reconciliations
Creating annual employee bonus target agreements; qualify discretionary spend
Assessing billability and running internal workload list analysis

You are an innovative, hands-on HR practitioner who enjoys challenges. You are proactive and have strong creative problem-solving skills which enable you to identify opportunities for impact even in situations with limited information. You enjoy collaborating with different stakeholders and clients and have a good understanding of the agency life. You enjoy working in a team but can also work independently.
Here's what we think you need to succeed in this role:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) is highly preferred
5 years' experience as an HR generalist working with C-level executives, preferably as a sole contributor or small HR team member
5 years' experience in full cycle recruiting, preferably in the tech field
Proven ability to build, integrate, and lead effective and sustainable programs in applicable functional areas
Flexibility in style and approach to work with diverse groups of employees
Strong consulting and influencing skills; ability to think strategically and be solution-oriented
Strong interpersonal and developed presentation skills with a proven ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
Ability to maintain a broad view of the business and deliver solutions that balance individual client and overall organization need
Experience in a startup environment is highly preferred
