Job Description
The Hemodialysis Nurse is responsible in rendering quality nursing care and support to patients suffering from acute and chronic renal (kidney) failure under general supervision of Hemodialysis head nurse and/or senior Hemodialysis Nurse.
Technical Skills
Provides care and support for patients suffering from acute and chronic (kidney) failure.
Demonstrates skills and accurate assessement, reassessement, development and implementation of plan of care. Plans, gives and evaluates nursing care.
Verifies treatment orders relevant to the dialysis treatment for each individual patient.
Revises and checks treatment plan related to the dialysis treatment inlcuding previous flow sheet acute/chronic orders.
Primes dialyzer and prepares necessary equipment to be used in dialysis treatment.
Records patient's medical information and pre and post vital signs.
Report observations to the physician.

Displays promptness in reporting for work, completion of tasks and meeting deadlines.
Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their illness, by explaining post treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise programs, self-administration of medication if needed with close supervision of immediate superior.
Interacts compassionately with all customers in a timely manner.
Shows courtesy and respect to internal and external customers.
Performs other functions as delegated.
Requirements
Passed the Local Board rendered by the Professional Regulatory Commission.
Preferably with experience on dialysis set-up/
With hospital/clinical work experience for at least 6 months (optional)
