Educational Requirement:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Registered Nurse in the Philippines
Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives endorsements from the outgoing staff nurse, coordinates to the charge nurse special endorsements or other concerns regarding their patients;
Perform quality hemodialysis treatment as prescribed along with other nursing care necessary for the well-being of the patient based on the rules and regulations established by DOH and the institution;
Participates and obeys implemented policies and guidelines in the unit
Receives and reads back doctor's orders for dialysis and carefully checks all parameter settings for appropriateness. Parameters are crucial to dialysis as this determines the success and failure of the procedure.
Strictly observes infection control guidelines for patient and staff safety at all times from materials preparation to termination of the process
Performs comprehensive assessment among all patients decked under his or her care prior to dialysis and communicates this clearly to the Attending Nephrologist or Resident on Duty concerned
