Description
- Sees to it that the day or night operations of his/her designated section of the Nursing Service are systematic and in order.
- Makes sure that all Nursing-related problems and concerns are addressed and documented promptly and properly.
- Opens communication lines from and to his/her area and all other hospital departments through proper channeling.
- Reports to the Chief Nurse all problems encountered and offer options for troubleshooting
- Makes sure that all patients are given adequate and utmost medical treatment.
- Determines the need for additional staffing depending of the acuity of the patients and arranges the staffing ahead of time.
- Assume responsibilities in effective implementation of operations and use of the computerized system in the nursing service.
- Make sure all stocks and supplies are properly accounted for. Conduct inventory and daily audit.
- Verify that all charges are precise, audit and report any discrepancy for appropriate action.
- Facilitates in-house continuing education and training programs, working alongside the Chief Nurse to ensure all Nursing staffs are competent in performing procedures, etc.
- Orients new staff, trainees, volunteers regarding the institutions guidelines and policies and sees to it that all these are implemented.
- Orients new staff in handling the Institution's computer-based information system (BizBox)
- Coordinates with other departments in resolving issues at hand, those that can be resolved short term.
- Relays information to the Chief Nurse and/or the higher management if necessary in a timely and appropriate manner.
GENERAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Must be a Registered Nurse and must have a RENAP License
Experience/Training : Minimum of six (6) months related experience.
With Advance Cardiac Life Support Training and Basic Life Support Training,
must undergo Hemodialysis training in any accredited RENAP hemodialysis
centers.
Knowledge/Skills/Attitude : Must possess all qualifications of Hemodialysis Nurse, a good
professional standing in the institution and preferably with continuing
education unit.
