Job Description
Inspects, repairs or replaces equipment winches, power take-offs, pneumatic or hydraulic pumps, booms, cables, blades and buckets. Inspects, repairs, overhauls & re-assembles electrical components such as alternators, distributors, starters, relays
• Running diagnostic tests on vehicles. • Analysing diagnostic test results.
• Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems.
• Checking vehicle lighting systems. • Test driving vehicles to gauge performance. • Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks.
• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles. • Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist. • Maintaining a parts inventory. • Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
Candidates must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering(Mechanical); Engineering(Others) or similar fields.
• Degree or diploma in mechanical or automotive engineering. • Diesel Certification advantageous. • Valid driver's license.
• Aptitude for mathematics and science. • Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components. • Good IT and diagnostic skills
• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools. • Attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills. • Excellent verbal communication skills. • Good organization skills.
Diesel technicians must understand basic mathematics, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to read and understand technical manuals
