Role and Responsibilities
In this role, the Training Manager will be responsible to:
Ensuring that the ATO is in compliance with the general requirements of CAAP
Validating the training pre-requisites are met for all state member clients
Ensure that the quality and standard of training given by the training staff comply with specific requirements of CAAP
Overall management, direction & long-term planning for the major programs assigned
Ensure that there is an adequate number of suitably qualified training staff available to undertake the required training tasks
Ensure that the highest standard of discipline within the ATO is maintained
Ensure the Instructor team has the qualifications and resources necessary to deliver cost-effective, high quality, state-of-the-art instruction
Management and development of the Training Administration function
Maintain pro-active coordination and communication with the whole team
Seek to maintain a high level of standardization and ensure full compliance with customer and regulatory requirements in cooperation with the GM, SFI and GI
Ensure the timely and accurate completion of student and Instructor Training Records, certification and other required reports
Maintain pro-active communication and participate fully in meetings with other departments to ensure close liaison and cooperation
Manage the training, induction and qualification of new instructors and participate in the selection of new personnel
Monitor and ensure instructor availability and qualification are kept updated
Maintain and update as required all training and technical manuals in current use
Assist in the maintenance and development of training curricula and courseware
Deliver instruction on Type-specific and non-technical courses as agreed from time to time with the General Manager
Implementation of Company policies and procedures and setting of business goals to support performance management
Ensuring that the highest standards of safety are maintained throughout the ATO
Assist the General Manager in administration of the ATO
Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
Extensive aeronautical and aviation training experience.
Previous management experience desirable.
Hold or have held a professional pilot License.
Working knowledge of relevant regulations.
Computer skills & knowledge of Internet applications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Results oriented with an ability to handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours including public holidays and week-ends.
Fluency in English.
