THE ROLE
The role requires strong leadership skills and accountability for self and others relating to performance, people engagement, and attrition management; Maintaining and enhancing current leadership teams through development and interpersonal skills; Delivery of sales and revenue targets, overseeing activities of other sales employees and monitoring and managing performance. Critical sales functions, sales training and quality improvement sit within this remit and form a vital part of the holistic sales operational support functions.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and develop local leadership teams
• Create an environment of trust and people engagement
• Cultivates lasting relationships with customers to grow customer loyalty
• Engage and motivate, develop, execute and implement sales strategies
• Manage sales training and quality improvement
• Ultimately responsible but holds other people managers to account for employee engagement as well as retention and ensuring positive attrition management is in place
• Meet pre-defined sales and revenue targets
• Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas in-region and projecting expected sales volumes and profit for existing and new products
• Determines annual unit and gross-profit plans by analysing trends and results
• Estimate sales volume and profit for current and new products.
• Understands changing trends, economic indicators, competitors and supply and demand
• Assess costs, competition, and supply and demand to identify selling prices.
• Complete sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results
• Implement sales programs by developing field sales action plans
• Maintains sales volume by tracking
• Define and communicate business's KPIs and targets to all salespersons
• Analyse patterns in consumer and market behaviour, and subsequently define data-driven action strategies in order to consistently optimize the business's commercial performance
• Deep understanding of people and data with a high level of commercial acumen and an understanding of the consumer bases, the competitive market, and an ability to analyse sales department performance. This is an integral part of the business with multiple senior stakeholders and requires effective management of external partners and collaborations with other internal departments
• Support the Country Manager in business development activity as directed, particularly where is relates to developing already deeply integrated partnerships
• Headcount planning to deliver as per global people and revenue requirements
• Develop and promote weekly, monthly and quarterly sales objectives.
• Hold the Training Manager accountable for establishing a sales training program to train new and existing employees
• Hold monthly 121's with the leadership teams
• Plans, monitors, and appraises job results.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results
