Job Description Role and Responsibilities Provide leadership and vision to the Actuarial organization through the development and execution of the long term Global Business Services (GBS) strategy and target operating model for actuarial services. Act as a business consultant to stakeholders across segments in articulating the value proposition of the Actuarial GBS to new and existing business partners and overseeing the transition of new services to Manulife Business Processing Services (MBPS). Establish annual business plans which include the setting of strategic priorities and annual budget and spend Ensure the function complies with internal and external policies through regular updates of service level agreements and strong risk management practices As a member of the MBPS Senior Leadership Team, support broader GBS initiatives through contributions on various strategic working groups and steering committees Chair and facilitate regular governance meetings with business partners, including executive stakeholders, to provide updates on MBPS team performance and progress on strategic initiatives. Lead and inspire the Actuarial Function of MBPS, which supports actuarial teams across multiple functions and segments. Monitor emerging trends and best practices in the industry and based on these and other key drivers, oversee the development of trend forecasts to be used for financial projections and rating purposes. Requirements Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics or statistics, At least 15 years of experience in the life insurance industry with deep understanding of insurance products and actuarial assumptions used to price products and value capital and future liability; Must have an FSA or FASP designation Strong leadership skills - you will be asked to build, engage and inspire your team to meet challenging business goals Exceptional collaborator and influencer with the ability to build constructive and effective relationships across a large organization. Experience in executing complex, business development initiatives and programs with multiple variables and senior stakeholders, preferably with direct exposure to global operations and/or financial services Strong communication skills and client service orientation to effectively work across multiple-geographies and manage various stakeholders Execution-oriented with strong focus to deliver targeted outcomes Demonstrated ability to create a compelling vision for the future and inspire commitment Ability to work in ambiguous environment and adapt to change while managing time and workload with aggressive timelines. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cultures. Translates functional and business unit priorities into clear execution strategies and action plans Flexible on shift to meet business deadlines.
