JOB SUMMARY :
Responsible for the performance of the nurses assigned to his / her unit: Ensures compliance with the set nursing policies and procedures; In-charge of organizing and carrying out a variety of administrative work
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES :
1. Plans, directs and evaluates the administration and delivery of nursing care on her / his unit within 24 hours
2. Determines workload of the staff nurses in his / her assigned unit
3. Monitors and ensures the following in his / her assigned unit
4. That staff carries out medical plan of care accurately and efficiently
5. That staff complies with the set hospital and nursing policies and procedures
6. That adequate inventory stock (i.e. medicine, supplies, equipment) are available on time and as required
7. A safe and therapeutic environment of the patient
8. Delegates nursing functions intelligently
9 Analyzes and determines the nursing needs of the patients for the day by assessing the general conditions of all patients, observation of their signs and symptoms, complaints, priority needs
10. Supervises, guides and evaluates the work of the staff and/or personnel through clinical rounds and conferences with the hospital medical staff
11. Directs and controls equipment, materials and supplies required for patient care
12. Reviews and evaluates unit request.
13. Participates in the coordination and implementation of training and other programs associated with the department
14. Performs other nursing tasks as required
15. Reviews, supports, promote and interpret hospital policies and regulations
16. Actively participates with PNA and other professional organizations' activities
17. Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time
GENERAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing, units in Masteral Degree an
advantage
Required License : Registered Nurse, IVT, BLS, ACLS
Related Experience: at least two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably in special areas
Knowledge / skills required : Professional competence in clinical practice and skills administration; knowledge on all nursing policies and procedures, hospital policies and procedures; possess leadership, management, people and organizational skills; computer literate, matured, can keep highly confidential information, honest and trustworthy
