HARDWARE PCB ENGINEER
Job Description Summary:
As a PCB Engineer - ECAD Librarian, you will be part of the PCB Design Team supporting NCR's multiple product design teams. You will be responsible for creating new PCB component library parts and maintaining the NCR PCB component Library.
Layout multilayer printed circuit boards (PCBs) while adhering to established design rules, methodologies, and quality standards of the hardware development process using Cadence Allegro tools.
Apply knowledge of electronic circuits, specific layout requirements, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) standards to PCB layout, and identify basic design errors.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to define and verify board outlines, mounting holes, keep-out areas, and height constraints.
Work closely with electrical engineers to define project schedules, component placement, trace routing, and power distribution requirements.
Generate schematic drawings, bill of materials (BOM), Gerber files, bare board documentation, and assembly documentation for PCB manufacturing.
Propose and implement improvements to existing CAD processes and CAD library standards.
Qualifications:
Graduate of Electronics Engineering or a related field.
Solid understanding of electronic principles in PCB design, particularly in signal integrity and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
Proficient in using PCB CAD tools, preferably Cadence Allegro.
Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) standards.
Preferably with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in PCB design roles.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Experience in PCB library management is a plus.
