Group Accounting Manager (Comptroller)
Location: Mabuhay Tower, IT Park, Cebu City
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
I. ACCOUNTING & FINANCE
Drive the financial planning for the entire BE Group of Companies to meet the financial objectives set by the Executive Office and BOD and in line with the group's Mission and Vision;
Lead and oversee activities of all Accounting and Finance personnel to optimize the efficiency and productivity of each team member;
Responsible for the timely submission and availability of accurate cash flows and financial statements of the companies for management and external reporting;
Review financial transactions for validity, accuracy and within the approved budget;
Monitor and analyze accounting data and draft reliable and current forecasting reports;
Oversees financial management requirements to include monitoring and control of costs and expenses, treasury activities such as issuance of official receipts and check disbursements, prepare and analyze cash position reports, and prepare cash requirements for each company;
Establish strong relations with bank partners and financial institutions, to represent the company in negotiations for terms and agreements beneficial to the group of companies ;
Monitors loans and payments of interest;
Assists the President and COO in the monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual business review and planning;
Set-up a strong audit and reporting system that is independent of operations, with regular submission of audit reports, including annual audits;
Review business development, investment plans and project feasibility studies, to simulate scenarios for cost-benefit analysis, evaluate profitability and return on investment;
II. IT & SYSTEMS
Oversees the IT and Systems personnel;
Establish process flow for Accounting and Finance, and enforce compliance to company policies relevant to cost management, in line with proper accounting methods, policies and procedures;
Leads in the establishment of system flows and programs for the whole organization in accordance with ISO;
Leads the relevant group's optimal use of adopted software such as SAP for BVI and Fiesta/Opera for BHR;
Provide recommendations and improvements in systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions;
III. GOVERNMENT COMPLIANCES
Ensure compliance with government mandated reports as led and guided by the BOD and Executive Office;
Responsible for the submission and compliance with governing bodies such as but not limited to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other relevant financial institutions;
Corroborates with assigned external auditor for the interim and annual audit of financial statements;
IV. PURCHASING & INVENTORY
Oversee the management of purchasing transactions for all three companies;
Develop and lead the execution of agreed purchasing strategies;
In line with established accounting policies and procedures, ensures that assigned purchasers are on top of managing vendors, tracking and monitoring purchases to reduce expenses and improve overall company effectivity, and timely delivery of supplies in accurate quantities ;
Lead the team in negotiation and closing of deals with major supplier for optimal terms;
Monitor and forecast inventory levels within reasonable quantities and based on forecasted demand;
Evaluate and prepare recommendations to justify CAPEX;
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting management
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
Experience with real estate accounting, including knowledge of real estate industry accounting practices and principles
Familiarity with real estate financial reporting requirements, such as CAM reconciliations and rent rolls
Proficient in using accounting software, such as SAP Business One, QuickBooks, Yardi, or MRI
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage and develop a team of accounting professionals
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet accounting deadlines
Additional preferred qualifications:
CPA certification
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience with property management accounting
Experience with multi-family or commercial real estate accounting
Knowledge of tax compliance requirements for real estate entities
