The senior designer will be the design lead on high-visibility and first-of-kind projects, as well as the lead on team process and team representation initiatives. This role reports to the Art Director, Global Marketing. The Senior Graphic Designer job role includes but is not limited to: Role Key Responsibilities: Senior designer supports Art Director and senior creative staff in conceptualizing and execution of a wide spectrum of collateral, both digital and print, static and interactive. Senior designer also has considerable project management responsibilities, beginning with a project's acceptance into the system. He/she works closely with the writing team, and facilitates meetings with Marketing Directors, SMEs, Demand Gen Managers, members of the Leadership Team, Consultants and other clients to meet, interview, question and provide thought leadership in proposing the best possible collateral pieces based on those interviews. He/she sets timelines for deliverables based on existing SLAs and while also working to meet client needs. He/she understands time management and can set reasonable benchmarks for design review through delivery of publish-ready documents, whether for print or digital deployment. To that end the senior designer understands best practices for preparing files for print, has mastery of color space requirements and an eye for detail when proofing. For digital deployment, he/she understands the unique requirements of the digital space and will be able to converse about and deliver files prepared for online use, whether static or interactive. Senior graphic designer possesses a deep understanding of typography, layout and design principles, along with color theory. He/she also understands branding best practices and can cogently defend Client's Brand and see that it is deployed across all design pieces (print and digital, small and large format) creatively but faithfully, ensuring maximum recognition of Client's brand and maximum delivered impact for the teams served. He/she is responsible for tracking jobs using job tracking software (currently Kapost), and will be agile in learning new workstreams and technologies. As our client's needs are diverse, the senior graphic designer must have expertise in a wide variety of softwareAdobe's Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, along with some knowledge of Animate, Premiere Pro, After Effects and XD for interactive/motion deliverables. The senior graphic designer will have sufficient mastery over applications as to be able to create and edit templates that include paragraph and character styles, box and image formatting. He/she will be able to create and export a variety of digital deliverables including landing page and web ads for paid and social media. Using provided templates or using custom designs, he/she will design, develop and/or revise marketing materials, such as brochures, newsletters, advertisements, handouts, client presentations, posters, invitations, interactive content, web images, etc., for internal and external audiences and in consultation with the Content Team, Demand Gen Managers, and other team members. Should also understand Photoshop for resizing, cropping and manipulating photos. The senior designer will provide thought leadership when conceptualizing, always looking for the best possible way to communicate Client's message. He or she should be willing to propose out-of-the-box ideas and be able to defend design choices. The senior designer should take the time necessary to understand the subject of the piece they are designing, enough to dialog with the SME to ensure the visuals created communicate the desired message. The senior designer will be the design lead on high-visibility projects. This includes, for example, developing creative for large-scale campaigns and strategic initiatives, and developing branding for new Client products/solutions/groups/events. The senior designer will be the design lead on first-of-kind projects. This includes developing new assets and templates for which no prior Client template/example exists, upon which future assets can be modeled. The senior designer will be the lead on team process and team marketing initiatives. This includes, for example, onboarding and shadowing new hires on the design team, managing the agenda and scheduling for recurring design team meetings, and managing the creative team portfolio and brand. The senior designer will be an active design representative for the creative team. This includes, for example, acting as the liaison between the design team and other teams/agencies, and actively communicating design choices and processes to other teams. The senior designer will be the responsible person in the absence of the Art Director. This includes both administrative and creative tasks, as approved by the Art Director. Minimum Requirements: 4&plus years of graphic design experience Creativity and the ability to balance multiple projects with diverse subject matter and focus Ability to work closely with other teams, including writers Understanding of best practices for preparing files for print Mastery of color space requirements Eye for detail when proofing Understanding of the digital space and ability to converse about and deliver files prepared for online use, whether static or interactive Deep understanding of typography, layout and design principles, along with color theory Understanding of branding best practices Expertise in Adobe's Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), Microsoft PowerPoint and Word Willingness to propose out-of-the-box ideas Ability to defend design choices
