JOB DESCRIPTION FOR GRADUATE LEVEL ACCOUNTANT
We are looking for a driven Graduate Accountant to join our elite team of professionals with the shared goal of genuinely helping people and to pursuing excellence in all client interactions.
Playing an integral role across our Accounting & Business Advisory Divisions, under the guidance of senior staff, you will be given the opportunity and mentoring to learn how to become an exceptional Accounting professional and pursue a long, rewarding and progressive career.
Your focus will be on accurately completing the following tasks, using the accounting practice management and client ledger software (Xero) which is specific to the clients accounting practice all while under the guidance of senior staff.
Accounting Qualifications and Professional Criteria:
• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, or similar discipline is strongly preferred.
• Must have at least minimum 1 year of Australian Accounting Experience.
• Knowledge of Australian Accounting & Taxation Experience advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Excel, XERO is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload.
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail and accuracy
• Skilled multi-tasker, reliable and committed to consistently meeting deadlines.
• You should be confident with a can-do attitude but respect the opportunity to work your way from the ground up.
Graduate Accounting and Taxation Responsibilities:
• Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for SMSFs, companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals to review stage.
• Preparing Business Activity Statements (BASs) for SMSFs, companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals to review stage.
• Reconciliations, journal entries and workpaper preparation.
• Work under the supervision of a Senior Accountant.
