GLOBAL EHS ENGINEER
Littelfuse is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer to support and implement EHS initiatives and requirements in New Product & Process Development (NP&PD), Product Configuration and Change Management (PCCM) across all our locations worldwide. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of EHS standards and best practices, environmental permitting, and will be able to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve EHS goals.
About the job:
Conducting safety and/or environmental risk assessments for new equipment, processes, and materials to ensure compliance with all EHS standards and regulations (30%).
Providing recommendations to facilities that will control risk to environment and protect associate safety (40%).
Working with facilities to ensure all regulatory reporting and project deliverables are completed in a timely manner (20%).
Other duties as assigned (10%).
Providing recommendations on EHS related activities and deliverables in Littelfuse New Product Process five phase review (NP&PD) and Product Configuration and Change Management (PCCM).
Ensuring EHS requirements for product design and processes meet all regulatory, industrial and company requirements to reduce environmental impact and protect Littelfuse associates from injury.
Working with cross functional teams across Littelfuse Business Units to identify hazards and make recommendations that will control risk associated with the introduction of new equipment, process, and materials.
Using of EHS tools and capabilities, and established EHS requirements to mitigate risk to the environment and the safety of our associates.
Working with local EHS professionals to ensure all required regulatory permits and project deliverables for the EHS and Core team review (NPPD), and EHS SME review (PCCM) are completed in a timely manner.
Assist in verification of EHS requirements on the requested equipment/machine in AFE system.
Support overall EHS initiatives and programs.
About you:
Education: Bachelor or university degree (Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Engineering)
At least 5 years of related work experience
Strong understanding of EHS regulations and standards including Control of Hazardous Energy (LOTO), Machine Guarding, Electrical & Fire Safety, Ergonomics and the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of classification and labelling of chemicals.
Experience in hazard identification, Risk Assessment and Control, Job Safety Analysis, Environmental Aspect and Impact Analysis, and machine safety risk assessment
Knowledge about product lifecycle, product ecology, handling of hazardous substances & hazardous waste
Familiar with local and global health, safety and environmental regulations & legal requirements including those for manufacturing banned & restricted substances
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and BOM
Experience with SAP and PRISM is a plus
High level of verbal and written communication skills. Fluent English is required
Ability to work independently, accurately, and to meet deadlines.
Requires schedule flexibility as may need to work with teams in different time zones.
