Your role:
As General Ledger (GL) Senior Accountant / Specialist, you handle and perform the GL operations task of the assigned entity on a daily basis including month end close (MEC) activities, to ensure realization of service objectives within set guidelines/policies.
You manage your processes and tasks to provide internal customers with financial data/reports, manage accounting processes, post to the general ledger, handle payroll and benefits (whenever applicable to the entity), maintain master data and reconcile/maintain accounts.
In addition, you are responsible for preparation of reports as required by the local finance (Country Services) and Group Accounting, performing financial analysis and (pre-)audit tasks.
You handle inquiries via tickets and also escalations, perform advanced processing for specific GL activities of a more complex/sensitive nature.
Assist in testing Development (Key User community), evaluation, and development processes for system changes or modifications, assists in special financial analysis projects.
Furthermore, as Senior Accountant / Specialist, you use your expertise and previous experience to constantly seek out innovative ways of performing processes, to contribute to process excellence initiatives and to mentor more junior General Accounting team members.
Works and collaborate well with other value streams in resolving issues pertaining to the process.
Who you are:
Bachelor's degree holder in finance, accounting or related field required
Master's Degree in Finance / Accounting or CPA accreditation(optional)
At least 4 to 5 yrs. of experience in General Ledger Accounting Operations
Initial work experience in Finance and Accounting with direct related experience with full-cycle General Ledger Accounting including Month End Closing Activities and Financial Reporting
Experience with Payroll & HR Benefit accounting
Profound accounting knowledge required (IFRS, GAAP, Tax)
Experience within a Shared Services Center (SSC) or Global Business Services (GBS) set-up
Experience with SAP or other ERP system required
Fluent English language skills required
Excellent quantitative, analytical, and Excel skills required
Willing to be based in BGC, Taguig, Metro Manila
Willing to work on graveyard night (night shift) during Month End Closing week and during Project stage. Then work shift can be moved to mid shift during non-peak (non month end closing).
