GENERAL ACCOUNTANT

General Accountant
The General Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the resort, ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The role requires hands-on management of accounting functions suited to an island setup, including coordination with purchasing, logistics, and operations teams for timely financial processing despite logistical limitations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Monitor cash handling, daily revenue reports, and reconciliation of front office and F&B sales.
Ensure proper inventory accounting, cost control, and monitoring of supplies, especially given island delivery schedules.
Oversee purchasing documentation, expense liquidations, and supplier payments.
Ensure compliance with government reporting (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, etc.) and local regulations.
Assist management in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
Implement internal controls and safeguard company assets.
Coordinate with external auditors, suppliers, and head office for reporting and audits.
Supervise accounting staff and ensure timely submission of reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or equivalent; CPA preferred.
At least 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or resort operations.
Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation and accounting systems.
Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently in a remote island environment.
Flexible and resourceful, with good communication and coordination skills.
