Roles and Responsibilities
-Day to day data entry of transactions and preparation of required work papers and statutory returns under the supervision and in collaboration with Managing Director
-Transaction processing (bookkeeping), payroll, BAS/IAS
-Financial Statements, high-level financial analysis
-Supports the Managing Director in the performance of their duties
-Accurately enters all transactions daily/weekly/monthly into the accounting system
-Uploads supporting evidence for all transactions entered
-Performs bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
-Preparation of payroll for multiple entities on a weekly basis
-Preparation of monthly or quarterly PAYGW, PAYGI or Business Activity Statements including fully reconciled VoB work papers;
-Prepares Annual Employee Payment Summaries
-Preparation of quarterly superannuation returns for all entities as required
-Monitor and ensure compliance with all statutory deadlines and submission of returns for clients by the deadline
-Reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts with main general ledger account
-Reconciles general ledger accounts with external records (eg ATO integrated client account, super and payroll tax)
-Able to competently prepare a fully reconciled Trial Balance
-Promptly informs the Australian team of any issues with accounts
-Maintains and builds a supportive and effective team culture
-Upholds and promotes the firm's values
-Maintains the highest ethical and professional standards
Required Experience
-Must have experience working with Australian businesses
-At least 4+ years' experience in Bookkeeping or accounting
Minimum Qualifications
-Accounting degree
A Successful Candidate must have:
-Basic skills with XERO, MYOB, QUICKBOOKS or equivalent
-Intermediate Word and Excel skills
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
-Well-honed Accounting skills with above-average communication skills
Proficient with
-Intermediate MS Excel and MS Word Certification
-XERO, MYOB, QUICKBOOKS
Experience Advantage
-CPA
