Description
• Under the direct supervision of the Chief Accountant, the General Accountant is responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of accounting policies, processes and procedures.
• Providing reasonable assurance as to compliance to accounting controls and policies to help ensure timeliness, accuracy and correctness of transaction processing.
• Checking for compliance in all phases of the transactions from authorization to recording.
• Prepares Journal Vouchers on a monthly basis for encoding in SAP Business One.
• Prepares bank reconciliation reports monthly and make necessary adjustments to reconcile with the bank balance using SAP Business One Program.
• Attends to external and internal audit requirements.
• Prepares analysis of some of the accounts possible adjustments to correct the balances.
• Maintains and updates the Journal Voucher Book (JVB)
• Reviews and Check the accuracy of requests for check preparation, Accounts Payable Vouchers and Check Vouchers to ensure correctness of recording of transactions.
• Checks accuracy of reports submitted by the staff such as costing, inventory reports, payroll reports, schedule of expenses and other accounts in the trial balance.
• Facilitates timely submission and filing of all tax returns, business permits/licenses and remittance of statutory deductions thru BIR EFPS Module.
• Generate reports from SAP Business One for the preparation of Financial Statements.
• Assists the Chief Accountant in the preparation of Management Reports/Financial Statements.
Other Duties
• Conducts initial performance evaluation of Accounting staff
• Recommends to the Chief Accountant appropriate disciplinary actions to erring Accounting employees
• Prepares duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Chief Accountant/VP-Controller.
A person who is qualified for this position must be
• BS Accountancy graduate, preferably an Certefied Public Accountant.
• At least 3 years experience as an Accounting Supervisor gained from a manufacturing firm.
• Proficient in terms of the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards, labor and taxation law.
• Highly analytical, proficient in oral and written communication.
• Exposure in using SAP Business One.
• Accurate, hardworking and can meet deadlines with minimum supervision
• Computer literate.
