The opportunity The selected candidate will: Designs the solution architecture to address business requirements, including the design of multiple solution components and / or design of the functional architecture for one or more functions of the enterprise, solving complex problems in realms where solutions may not currently exist Holistically evaluates the architecture and applies deep technical expertise to understand the business impact of a technical component, recommending and implementing new solutions / ways of working / technologies to meet business requirements Contributes to sound project plans with the business by engaging with multidisciplinary teams, and by identifying, managing and mitigating risk and enforcing governance and compliance activities for the solution Develops relationships across the business to understand requirements, applies deep technical knowledge of solution and technical architecture to solve business problems and works closely with other architecture and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions Responsibilities, Qualifications, Certifications - External Your key responsibilities Designs the solution architecture to address business requirements, including the design of multiple solution components and / or design of the functional architecture for one or more functions of the enterprise, solving complex problems in realms where solutions may not currently exist Holistically evaluates the architecture and applies deep technical expertise to understand the business impact of a technical component, recommending and implementing new solutions / ways of working / technologies to meet business requirements Contributes to sound project plans with the business by engaging with multidisciplinary teams, and by identifying, managing and mitigating risk and enforcing governance and compliance activities for the solution Develops relationships across the business to understand requirements, applies deep technical knowledge of solution and technical architecture to solve business problems and works closely with other architecture and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions Skills and attributes for success Has an advanced understanding of solution architecture and can apply this in the development of new solution architecture components Broad understanding of IT services, including service offerings, technical standards and policies Timely creation of appropriate technical artefact, including solution design documents Strong knowledge in a particular business function, e.g. HR or Finance business practices Has good operational knowledge of the business and technical capabilities of the current state architecture to identify opportunities where business and technical change can deliver value. Understands the end to end capability of the technical components being proposed in solutions in order to match technical capabilities to value levers identified from operational knowledge To qualify for the role, you must have Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, IT, Mathematics, or related field preferred More than 7 years applied experience Possesses deep knowledge on solution architecture related to a single problem domain and has good knowledge in one or more other domains, including how they can be applied in a business context Proven experience in delivering effective solution architecture strategies Experience supporting peer teams and responsibilities such as infrastructure, operations, enterprise architecture, info-security Ideally, you'll also have AWS Cloud Certified CISSIP Pivotal Certified TOGAF What we look for A self-starter, independent-thinker, curious and creative person with ambition and passion
