Job Description Full Stack Software Engineer Job Description Summary The Appkickers team at Manulife is a highly motivated Agile Squad responsible for the creation, enhancement and maintenance of a suite of applications which accelerate the delivery of policies to new customers. We are currently seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join us in the delivery of a new, straight-through processing business application. The ideal candidate will combine their engineering and problem-solving background with strong interpersonal skills to ensure that the processes and systems are constantly evolving to address business needs in a fast-moving and collaborative environment. Responsibilities: Work with the global Appkicker Engineering team throughout the Software Development Life Cycle to ensure software is functioning at peak performance Write code to deliver on requirements for new and existing clients Develop new solutions and maintain existing ones Support rapid iteration and development Deliver regular reporting on initiatives, program progress and key areas of risk Identify, propose and acquire toolsets to assist with the process enhancements with emphasis on straight through processing of new business applications in an Agile and DevOps environment Experiment with emerging technologies and understand how they will impact what comes next Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of software development experience and 3+ years of work experience in application security Development experience with web applications, web services, and mobile applications including: at least1 of the following core languages in order of relevance: C#, Java, .NET, C, C++ Exposure to at least 1 of the following development stacks: LAMP, WAMP, MAMP Knowledge of internet hosting services such as IIS and/or Apache Tomcat Familiarity with HTML mark up languages, Razor a plus Experience working on or closely with development teams in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using DevOps, Agile and/or waterfall methodologies Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and business functions Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication (oral and written) skills to work with technical and non-technical audiences Results-oriented, high energy, and self-motivated Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills Manulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services group that helps people make their decisions easier and lives better.
